VALORANT Challengers EMEA: Favorites Deliver as FOKUS Fights for Survival

The group stage of VALORANT Challengers EMEA Stage 3 is already producing dominant wins, close series, and several unexpected results. Four teams have secured their places in the playoffs, while several well-known organizations are still fighting to stay in the tournament.

NAVI Junior Reaches the Playoffs Undefeated

NAVI Junior made an impressive start to the event. The team opened the tournament with a convincing 2–0 victory over Beşiktaş Esports before facing Mandatory in the winners’ match.

Mandatory managed to take one map, but NAVI Junior still closed out the series 2–1. With two victories from two matches, NAVI Junior has secured first place in Group A and a spot in the playoffs.

Mandatory will receive another opportunity to qualify when it faces Beşiktaş Esports in the group’s deciding match. The winner advances, while the loser is eliminated.

Enterprise Esports Confirms Its Strong Form

Enterprise Esports also completed its opening matches without a defeat. The team started with a 2–0 win over Barça eSports.

Enterprise faced a tougher challenge against Joblife, which managed to win one map and keep the series competitive. However, Enterprise eventually secured a 2–1 victory and finished first in Group B.

Joblife must now face Barça eSports in the deciding match. Barça recovered from its opening loss by defeating CGN Esports 2–1 in a close elimination series.

The upcoming match could be difficult for Joblife, as Barça has already shown that it can perform under pressure.

MIR Produces One of the Biggest Surprises

MIR has been one of the most impressive teams in Group C. The team began its run with a 2–1 victory over FOKUS before taking on UCAM Esports Club.

UCAM entered the match as the favorite after beating Pixel Lumina 2–1. However, MIR delivered another strong performance and won the series 2–1.

With two victories, MIR has already secured a playoff position. The result is especially surprising because the team entered Stage 3 from a relatively low position in the circuit standings.

Despite that, MIR managed to defeat both FOKUS and UCAM, proving that previous rankings do not always reflect a team’s current form.

FOKUS Avoids Early Elimination

FOKUS had a difficult start to Stage 3. The DACH representative lost its opening match against MIR 1–2 and immediately dropped into an elimination series.

There, FOKUS faced Pixel Lumina. The series was once again close, but FOKUS managed to win 2–1 and keep its playoff hopes alive.

The team will now face UCAM Esports Club in the deciding match. This is likely to be FOKUS’ toughest challenge of the tournament so far.

UCAM entered the event as one of the strongest teams of the season, although its defeat against MIR showed that it can be vulnerable. FOKUS will need to take advantage of those weaknesses while delivering a more consistent performance than in its first two matches.

For German-speaking fans, this is one of the most important remaining matches of the group stage.

REBORN Lives Up to Expectations

REBORN entered Stage 3 as one of the main favorites and has fully justified that status so far.

The team started with a comfortable 2–0 victory over Ghools Esports. It then defeated Misa Esports by the same scoreline.

REBORN reaches the playoffs with a perfect series record and without dropping a single map. After its strong performances throughout the season, the team remains one of the leading candidates to finish near the top of the tournament.

Its group-stage run has also shown that REBORN is capable of controlling matches rather than relying only on narrow victories.

Team Liquid Academy Bounces Back

Team Liquid Academy suffered a surprising 1–2 defeat against Misa Esports in its first match. That result immediately placed the team under pressure.

However, Liquid Academy responded strongly in the elimination match against Ghools Esports. The team won 2–0 and avoided an early exit.

It will now face Misa Esports again in the deciding match. Liquid Academy has the opportunity to take revenge, while Misa will try to prove that its first victory was not a one-time result.

The rematch should be particularly interesting because both teams are already familiar with each other’s strategies and preferred maps.

The First Eliminated Teams

Several teams have already been eliminated from Stage 3.

AlQadsiah Esports lost 0–2 to Mandatory before suffering a 1–2 defeat against Beşiktaş Esports. CGN Esports was beaten 0–2 by Joblife and then lost a close 1–2 series against Barça eSports.

Pixel Lumina was eliminated after defeats against UCAM and FOKUS. Ghools Esports also exited the tournament without winning a map, losing 0–2 to both REBORN and Team Liquid Academy.

CGN’s elimination is particularly disappointing for German fans. The team had a real chance to win its series against Barça but was unable to close it out.

Four Matches Will Complete the Playoff Field

Four deciding matches will determine the remaining playoff participants.

Mandatory will face Beşiktaş Esports, while Joblife takes on Barça eSports. In Group C, UCAM and FOKUS will compete for the final playoff position. The last deciding match will be a rematch between Misa Esports and Team Liquid Academy.

NAVI Junior, Enterprise Esports, MIR, and REBORN have already qualified. All four teams completed their opening group-stage matches without a series loss.

REBORN and NAVI Junior have looked especially convincing. Enterprise proved that it can survive difficult series, while MIR has become the biggest surprise of the tournament so far.

Conclusion

The opening matches of VALORANT Challengers EMEA Stage 3 have shown that pre-tournament rankings do not always decide the outcome.

MIR defeated two highly rated opponents and reached the playoffs earlier than expected. REBORN, meanwhile, has performed exactly as many fans predicted, dominating its group without losing a map.

FOKUS now faces a must-win match against UCAM. After surviving its first elimination series, the team will need its strongest performance of the tournament to continue its run.

With four deciding matches still to come, the most important part of the group stage is approaching. Soon, the complete playoff field will be confirmed, while four more teams will see their Stage 3 campaigns come to an end.
